New Businesses In Lansing, Now News Interviewed & Backed Mi: February - March, 2025

Now Marketing Jacki Krumnow of Now News at ribbon cutting of new business Dinner Detectives in Lansing Mi

Dinner Detectives - Live Theatric Dinner & a Show: AC Hotel, Lansing Mi

Krumnow attended the ribbon cutting (seen here, playing dead for a playful photo op with the Lansing Region Chamber of Commerce and owners of) Dinner Detectives. Touted as “North America’s largest interactive comedy murder mystery dinner theatre show!

Krumnow attended her first Dinner Detective event last February in Toledo, Ohio while visiting friends. She had an absolute blast and has been petitioning organizations like Choose Lansing to try and get Dinner Detectives out to the Lansing area ever since.

She attended the first show as a Lansing Chamber Ambassador for free with other ambassadors and her husband, where guests are served a three course meal and get to interactively solve a “murder” with a local theater trope.

It’s a wonderful new form of entertainment and date night fun for people of many ages in Lansing, Michigan. Individuals who love to play Clue, watch who dunnit films, or just enjoys a room filled with community, laughter, and kooky antics, will want to check this new business out.

Krumnow would probably rate this event as a PG-13 experience based on murder and comedy in the show. She is unaware if their are age restrictions for participation. A bar is available for purchasing drinks outside of the dinner and entertainment.

They are currently hosting their events at the AC Hotel Lansing University Area. They switch out the “theme” of the murder case every few weeks so people can go back and test their sleuthing skills out on a new entertaining detective storyline.

Tickets starting at only $69.95.

Krumnow was not asked to promote Dinner Detectives by the owners or the Chamber in exchange for the free tickets. She just thinks they are really neat, and got the tickets by being an ambassador with the LRCC. Now Marketing, Jacki Krumnow attending soft opening of Cooper's Hawk winery and restaurant in Lansing, MI

Cooper’s Hawk - Winery & Restaurant: Lake Lansing Rd, Lansing MI

Cooper’s Hawk had a soft opening and ribbon cutting in February, which Krumnow attended for a short while. Where the owners shared a champagne toast to opening with their employees and the Lansing Chamber of Commerce during the event.

While there, Krumnow didn’t have a chance to try the food or drinks, but she did get to see the vibes and everything offered at the new restaurant located at 2101 Lake Lansing Rd, Lansing, MI 48912.

They had rows of wine, a refrigerated wall of premium sweets, truffles, and chocolates, a small retail area filled with a variety of wine-related products, from glassware to gag gifts.

The bar and restaurant has an upscale vibe to it. From details found online, they offer monthly specials, brunch and bubbles, chef recommendations, happy hour, along with dine in and carry out options.

Currently they suggest booking a reservation first.

Krumnow was not asked to promote Cooper Hawk Winery & Restaurant by the owners or the Chamber. She attend the soft opening by being an Ambassador of the LRCC. Jacki Krumnow of Now Marketing at a Private Party event in REOTOWN CLUBHOUSE February 2025

REOTOWN CLUBHOUSE - Cocktail Bar, Restaurant & Billiards Hall: REO Town, Lansing, MI

REO Town Clubhouse has finally had it’s official Ribbon Cutting this last week, but Krumnow has had a few experiences with the location before it was “christened” by the Lansing Region Chamber of Commerce on March 11, 2025.

She visited the new business located in REO TOWN, in the previous building that held Ellison Brewing Co, in February for a private party celebrating a colleague’s promotion from Choose Lansing, seen in the photos below and video highlight on her Instagram. She has also visited it a second time for a last minute, Wednesday night dinner with her husband.

The business is owned by local family entrepreneurs, Bruce and Desirea Kring, who previously opened Gravity Smokehouse Brew & Que in Holt, Mi.

REOTOWN CLUBHOUSE is self-described as a bit more upscale on the dinning side, “Lansing’s Premier Italian Eatery and Entertainment Venue,” with a full cocktail bar on both levels, the second level used mostly for private events. A billiards hall on the back end with top tier pool tables and vibes. Krumnow, herself, feels as though REOTOWN Clubhouse has a bit of a Great Gatsby vibe and feel to it.

So far she has only partook in a few cocktails, mocktails, and woodstove cooked pizza and appetizers. All of which were delicious, but perhaps priced a little high, along with softer pours. But the wait staff is always friendly, knowledge, and personable though.

Krumnow is not a billiards player, and cannot comment on how great the pool hall is, aside from the friendly individuals who spoke to her, general vibe, and details staff gave her about the professionalism of the tables.

Krumnow was not asked to promote REOTOWN Clubhouse by the owners or the Chamber. She attend the ribbon cutting as an Ambassador of the LRCC. This NOW NEWS was compiled by Krumnow for free, to help Lansing shine and learn more about what’s happening in the area, as a guerilla journalist.

Now Marketing, Jacki Krumnow joins LRCC as an ambassador to welcome 7 brew to the Lansing area for ribbon cutting

Seven Brew (7 Brew) - Drive Thru Coffee: Cedar St, Lansing, MI

Seven Brew (7Brew) had it’s ribbon cutting on March 05, 2025, a national franchise, but locally operated from what Krumnow could tell with conversations of the owner, James Hill, and other managers at the event.

Krumnow was excited for the addition to the Lansing Coffee scene across the street from Meijer at 6206 S Cedar St., Lansing Mi. Since it’s opening, the drive thru line has seemed long, but efficiently ran. Her excitement stems from a similar brand she’s since missed since moving from Colorado to Michigan in 2022, a gap missing in her highly caffeinated heart, Dutch Bros.

Based on interviewing Hills, 7 Brew operates similarly to her long lost favorite coffee shop in Colorado Springs. With loads of different coffee drink concoctions to try, energy drinks, teas, and monthly specials, Seven Brew is making a big splash in the Lansing coffee scene.

Although she has not had the chance to try one of their beverages yet, it just around the corner with easy access for drive thru coffee off i96. Seven Brew currently commits itself to being an active community member. Donating coffee to local businesses around town before they opened, and donating a thousand dollars to the UofM Sparrow of some sort at the grand opening.

Krumnow might have been a bit distracted while they stated what division was receiving the donation. She’s new at this okay?

Krumnow was not asked to promote Seven Brew by the owners or the Chamber. She attend the ribbon cutting as an Ambassador of the LRCC. This NOW NEWS was compiled by Krumnow for free, to help Lansing shine and learn more about what’s happening in the area, as a guerilla journalist.
